It is that time of year when the leaves start to fall from the trees and they go everywhere! You're forever picking the rogue ones out of your car window wipers and in your bonnet, wondering how they got there in the first place. Falling leaves cause lots of blocked drains around the country, they are notorious for swirling around in the back garden in the wind and collecting on mass in your kitchen drain. It is frustrating because the first time you usually notice is when it is too late and there is blocked drain. This is easily preventable though, all you need to do is take the time to have a look at your drain gullies that would be liable to collect leaves, usually your external kitchen drain or perhaps your rain water pipe is where they gather. Grab a glove and put it on (as long as you don't mind a bit of dirt) and fish the leaves out of the drain and flow test it with a hose pipe to check water is draining ok. If there is still a problem the drain then you can call us, the drainage experts! If the blockage persists then we have fully equipped vans to tackle all types of blockages.
